This My First Activity Cube from The Learning Journey is so much fun, and absolutely perfect for Alex and Jacob. I was worried it might only be good for Jacob as he gets bigger, but he loved the bright colors and the sounds the clicking gears make. He kept reaching for it and I know he will be playing with it for a long time as he gets bigger.
Alex on the other hand, was working on his hand eye coordination with inserting the letters into the slots and we talked about which letters, and then colors. He enjoys it too.
It has five different sides. One side is a shape sorter, one has colorful rotating gears that make a fun clicking sound, one side is rolling little beads that also make a fun shaker sound, then there are shape slides and Alexs’ favorite side, the shape sorter.
The cube helps babies and toddlers work on cognitive skills and develop their tactile motor skills.
While it says 12 months and up, I assure you Jacob adored it and he’s only 6 months old. Of course he isn’t using it as intended but he does enjoy the bright colors and I am pretty sure it won’t be long until he will actually be using it.
The cube is made of plastic and is well constructed. There are no tiny pieces so no worries about swallowed parts. We are expecting another new addition to our ever growing family and I am 100% sure this will be used for that little one too. I have a feeling this is the kind of toy that can be passed down for generation to generation and never get old. I think someday it will be in grandma’s toy box too 😉
I received this activity cube to facilitate this review, however as always, all opinions and experiences are 100% honest and my own.
