Oh Washi, how I love thee. But how I hate to store thee. Do you find Washi Organization to be a problem too? It all started with a single roll and by now I have accumulated over 100 and counting. I love these little tapes but I had to find a Washi Organization and Storage Solution or I was never going to use any of it.
I’ve tried several ways to organize my washi. I first had the few ro-lls I had on a large book ring. That worked well until I bought too much. So I bought another book ring. Then I had trouble figuring out where to store the full rings and knew I’d just keep adding so I went on the hunt for another solution.
I tried a dowel/curtain rod. That worked for a few months but I absolutely hated taking it apart to add more washi. And there was always more washi. There will always be more washi.
I even tried a drawer at one point, but again, I took the whole drawer and still needed room. It was a never ending situation.
What is my magic Washi Organization Storage Solution?
So while browsing one of my Facebook planner groups, I saw someone mention acrylic sunglass drawers. Once I saw them, I knew they were the solution I’d been looking for.
What I love is that they can stack on top of each other, and I have enough room for two more to go right next to these two. Ordered and on their way.
How many Washi do they hold?
I’m sure you’re wondering how many washi tape each unit holds. The units have three drawers each. I was able to fit about 30-35 rolls of Washi tape in each drawer, putting the approximate amount of washi tape per unit at 90-105. Understand this number is going to change due to several factors. The size and width of the tape are going to determine how much you can fit in each drawer, so just keep that in mind.
