I’ve had a black thumb my entire life. In fact, while I tried and tried for years I never seemed good at gardening or even keeping a plant alive. All of that changed several years ago when after a disappointing summer of nothing that we planted growing, I noticed these little sprouts coming up in the corner of my garden. Asparagus. I love my asparagus, and has been the only thing I’ve successfully kept alive for 3 whole years. (shhh… I’m so afraid of jinxing it).
Earlier this spring we planted celery and it’s growing nicely as well. So I’m good with two veggies.
Then a few weeks ago I decided to add to the garden even further and bought one of several different things to see what would happen and if they’d actually stay alive, since way back when I lost every plant/veggie/fruit that we took the time to put in the garden.
How am I doing?

Cucumber

Icebox Watermelon

Jalapeno

strawberries

Tomatoes

Cilantro

Lemon Thyme

Sweet Basil
Also growing I have:
- Green Beans
- Lettuce
- Scallions
- Cucumbers from seed
- Carrots
To plant still, I have:
More of all of that up there and then:
- Basil
- Rosemary
- Thyme
- Parsley
- Green Onions/Scallions
- lavender
- dill
- chives
- mint
- sage
I’m trying to make sure I keep everything else alive first. haha Wish me well on that, I need all the green thumb mojo I can get. I am awfully proud that I have things actually growing and producing stuff though – even our tomato plant has tiny tomatoes growing on it. Very happy about that.
What do you have in YOUR garden?
